Having started her career designing her signature fabrics on the runways of Paris for Calvin Klein, Christian Dior and Givenchy Couture, Aviva then launched her own line of home accessories in Brooklyn, New York. She now has her own studio in her hometown in California. Staying true to her Japanese heritage which has a strong influence in her designs, Aviva consistently stays one step ahead, setting the trends worldwide with her latest innovative designs. She is known for inventing the sequin mermaid cushion which gained global overnight popularity having more than 35 million YouTube hits in just a matter of days. Aviva continues to gain other notable accolades including being voted Best of the Best for four years by the American Society of Interior Design, getting invited to The United Nations to host one of her magnificent live painting shows, and she has even designed her own Liberty scarf. Her designs are favoured in luxurious hotels including the Ritz Carlton and the Four Seasons. Aviva’s signature velvet collection, known for its unique style of imprinting different objects, including leaves, feathers, minerals and even elegant vintage underwear into velvet to leave a beautiful impression, is part of a permanent exhibition at The Brooklyn Art Museum in New York.
