As the world’s largest tyre and rubber company, Bridgestone is always looking at ways to keep motorists as safe as possible, whether that’s through its range of premium tyres, its award-winning training programmes for customers or its work with road safety charity TyreSafe.
To coincide with Tyre Safety Month and the British summertime drawing to a close, Bridgestone is offering motorists a winter driving pack, containing a pair of anti-slip gloves, ice scraper, window scraper and a tyre tread depth gauge worth £20
The pack is seen as an ideal travel companion ahead of long journeys and a perfect ‘go-to’ bag of accessories if things did take a turn for the worse while out on the road.
Meanwhile, Bridgestone is also urging all motorists to check that their tyre tread depths are over the minimum legal limit of 1.6mm - roughly the same as the rim of a 20p piece ¬- after TyreSafe revealed that 10 million vehicles could have been driven with an illegal tyre.
Bridgestone believes that the time has never been more critical to carry out some simple tyre checks – or even drive to a nearby garage to get a professional technician to take a look.
Last year, TyreSafe revealed that over 10 million UK motorists could have been driving a vehicle with an illegal and dangerous tyre, which equated to more than one-in-four of the 37 million cars and light commercial vehicles on UK roads. The statistics were announced at a Tyre Safety Month Briefing and were conducted by TyreSafe in partnership with Highways England.
To become a lucky winner of a winter driving pack all you have to do is answer this simple question:
